I lied. I said I would make you a lemon luxury cake, and I was supposed to bring you a pinch of Catalan salt, too. Pie is distracting.
Some tips on homemade pie coming tomorrow. First one: make the dough for your pie crust the day before you want to bake the pie. You should chill the dough a minimum of 45 minutes before rolling, but I find it easiest to make the dough one day (with a food processor) then roll the dough, make the filling and bake the pie the next day.
But it looks so yummy! With cute cut outs no less. This is definitely the week to be distracted by pies pies pies.

Thank you! I forgot to mention that this pie recipe was RLB's Great Pumpkin Pie from the Bible. My husband thought it was a bit "adult" tasting for him, but I also used organic pumpkin pie puree from the hippie market, and RLB prefers Libby.
